Dressing up has always been something of a tradition in Dublin, and with the advent of Comic Con coming to the city once a year, the past time has only grown.

But comic book Heroes are not the only inspiration, Halloween has it’s history deeply rooted in Irish Folklore, and dressing up to celebrate it is quiet normal.

Then there’s St. Patrick’s Day, and although a global phenomenon, Irish people dress up for this too, although the parades are more for children these days.

Sport, tradition, Movies and Music have always been of great inspiration for the people of Ireland, and long may it continue, however, it’s Religion which is still a powerful symbol of Irishness globally, if not the strongest. The reaction of many in Ireland though has changed, and is one less of the fear of the past, more of an embrace of the present and an understanding of what has gone before.
